KUALA PILAH, July 25 2026 – Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today praised the Community Development Department (KEMAS) for its vital role in early childhood education and community skills development during the Negeri Sembilan-level KEMAS Skills Day and Alpha Gen Talents programme.
Zahid, who is also Minister of Rural and Regional Development, UMNO president and Barisan Nasional chairman, visited the Rakan Muda Complex in Kuala Pilah this afternoon. He said he was delighted to see the venue packed with parents and children from TABIKA KEMAS centres who turned out in force to celebrate the event.
“Alhamdulillah, I truly appreciate the commitment of all KEMAS personnel who have long served as the backbone of early childhood education and community skills development. Their dedication enables KEMAS to continue shaping a generation that is knowledgeable, of good character and ready to face the future,” he wrote in a post on X.
Zahid highlighted recent progress in KEMAS early education programmes, which now include Quran teaching and memorisation (hafazan) for children as young as two years old. At the same time, practical skills courses such as sewing, cooking, grooming and entrepreneurship continue to provide opportunities for more people to upgrade their abilities, generate income and improve their livelihoods.
“Insya-Allah, I want to see Negeri Sembilan continue producing generations that are knowledgeable, skilled and competitive. With the support of all parties, I am confident KEMAS will remain one of the main catalysts in developing human capital and driving the progress of Negeri Sembilan in the years ahead,” he added.
The event, held under the theme of building an educated generation and empowering a skilled society, drew strong community participation and underscored KEMAS’s ongoing efforts under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development.
