JEMPOL, NEGERI SEMBILAN 19 July 2026 – Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi visited FELDA Palong 8 in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan, yesterday to join residents in the GEMA@KKDW community programme.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Zahid, who also serves as Minister of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) and UMNO President, highlighted the strong community spirit he witnessed among participants of all ages.
“Seeing the attendance from various age groups truly reflects the spirit of togetherness that has always been the strength of the community here,” he wrote.
Zahid emphasised that a state’s progress cannot be measured by physical infrastructure or economic growth alone.
“It begins with strong families, a mutually supportive society, and giving children the opportunity to build a better future,” he said.
He praised the dedication of FELDA settlers, describing their spirit and commitment as the foundation of Malaysia’s successful rural development.
“These values must continue to be preserved and passed on to future generations,” he added.
Zahid expressed confidence in Negeri Sembilan’s potential for further growth.
“Insya-Allah, with stability, unity, and the support of the people in this state, more opportunities and development can be brought for a better future for Negeri Sembilan,” he stated.
The visit was part of ongoing efforts under the GEMA@KKDW initiative, a community-focused programme by the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development aimed at strengthening grassroots engagement in rural areas.
Zahid’s post was accompanied by several photos showing large crowds of residents, families, and children participating in the programme, including group photos with young participants in traditional attire and community members engaging in activities.
