KUALA LUMPUR, April 25, 2026 – The youth wing of the Democratic Action Party (DAP), DAPSY Malaysia, will participate in the “Tangkap Azam Baki” Rally this afternoon to demonstrate a principled position and firm commitment to integrity, transparency, and the rule of law.
In a statement, DAPSY National Assistant Publicity Secretary Syaheera Ghafar said the participation is not a contradiction even though DAP is part of the Unity Government. Instead, it represents a shared responsibility with the people to uphold stability and public confidence in government institutions.

“As the youth wing of a party that forms part of the government, DAP remains consistent in upholding the values of integrity, protecting the democratic rights of the people, strengthening governance, and ensuring the credibility of national institutions is preserved,” she said.
According to Syaheera, DAPSY’s involvement in the rally conveys three clear messages:
- DAPSY stands firmly with the people who demand transparency in the country’s administrative system, regardless of political position.
- DAPSY’s continued commitment to defending the principles of accountability and integrity, including towards institutions that should serve as the main bulwark against corruption.
- It reflects the courage of young people to voice demands for institutional reform in a peaceful and democratic manner for a cleaner and more credible future for the nation.
She stressed that the current government administration and relevant agencies should no longer delay efforts to ensure the country is truly free from any allegations of abuse of power and corruption.
“The people have the right to know the truth, and only through transparent investigations and firm action can confidence in the national administration be restored,” she added.
Syaheera also views the participation not as an attempt to weaken the government, but rather to strengthen the foundation of governance through accountability and transparency.
“DAPSY will continue to be committed to being the voice of brave, progressive, and principled youths in fighting for a clean, fair, and integrity-driven Malaysia,” she said.
The “Tangkap Azam Baki” Rally is organised to demand a transparent investigation and action against Tan Sri Azam Baki over long-standing controversial allegations during his tenure as Chief Commissioner of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM).
