JOHOR BAHRU June 27, 2026 — Malaysia’s Minister of Digital Gobind Singh Deo led a Pakatan Harapan (PH) fundraising dinner in Johor Jaya and Tiram last night, rallying supporters as the campaign for the July 11 Johor state election enters full swing.
Deo, who is also DAP National Chairman and MP for Damansara, described the event as part of the coalition’s ongoing mission to build a more prosperous and inclusive Malaysia. He was joined by senior DAP leaders including Teo Nie Ching, Chow Kon Yeow, Wong Kah Woh, Liew Chin Tong, Liow Cai Tung, and PH’s candidate for the Johor Jaya state seat, Lee Wern Yiing.
In a bilingual post on X, Deo urged Johoreans living away from the state to return home on polling day. “Your vote is your voice, and your participation has the power to shape Johor’s future,” he wrote, using hashtags #PRNJohor and #UndiHARAPAN.
The dinner comes shortly after nomination day, with 172 candidates contesting all 56 seats in the Johor State Legislative Assembly. Pakatan Harapan and Barisan Nasional are both fielding full slates, setting the stage for competitive contests across the state.
Photos shared by Deo showed packed tables, party leaders mingling with local supporters, and a lively community atmosphere typical of election-season fundraising events.
