KUALA LUMPUR Aug 7, 2026 – After more than a decade away, official ABBA tribute band Björn Again is set to electrify the Malaysian capital with Björn Again – The ABBA Forever Tour at Zepp Kuala Lumpur on 12 August 2026.
The group, officially recognised by the original ABBA members, will bring the vibrant disco and pop sounds of the 1970s to local fans hungry for the Swedish legends’ timeless hits.
Representing the band, Agnetha Falstart and Benny Anderwear expressed their excitement about reconnecting with Malaysian audiences, known for their warmth and high energy.
“We know Malaysian audiences are among the best. They love to sing, dance and have fun. Although we performed in Kuala Lumpur about 12 to 15 years ago, we have always wanted to return because of the beautiful memories of the energy and love from the fans here,” Benny said in a recent virtual interview.
Agnetha added that after 37 years of performing around the world, the band’s core mission remains unchanged: spreading joy through ABBA’s enduring music.
Benny highlighted the concert’s unique family-friendly appeal that bridges generations. “It’s common to see two or three generations from the same family attending together — those who grew up with ABBA songs, fans of the Mamma Mia! musical, right down to their children and grandchildren.
“The songs written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus have lasted more than 50 years. That’s proof of the strength of their work. Our shows are clean family entertainment with no coarse language or inappropriate content.”
The two-and-a-half-hour performance will feature all the major hits, including Dancing Queen, Fernando, Mamma Mia, Waterloo, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! and Take a Chance on Me, spanning disco, emotional ballads and rock-edged tracks. Fans can also expect humour, stage interaction and light-hearted surprises designed to leave everyone smiling.
To enhance the retro atmosphere, the band encourages audiences to dress in 1970s-inspired outfits. The production will include upgraded costumes, musical arrangements, lighting and multimedia elements.
Executive producer Shirazdeen Karim of Shiraz Projects Sdn Bhd, the concert’s organiser, said he is delighted to bring this international-standard show to Zepp KL after six months of careful preparation.
“While concerts have commercial goals, the greatest reward for us is seeing the expressions on fans’ faces as they leave the venue. When they say it was one of the best nights of their lives, that means everything. It makes all the preparation, challenges and hard work worthwhile when the main objective of making fans happy is achieved. It’s rare to see a concert where three generations can come and enjoy the music together,” he said.
