SEPANG Oct 4, 2026 — Formula 1’s medical car has been sent out for a quick reconnaissance of Sepang International Circuit as heavy rain continues to delay the start of the Bahrain Grand Prix, the championship said.
In an update on its official account, Formula 1 said the medical car was checking the track because “it’s so wet out there”, and reminded fans that the race start remains delayed after Race Control earlier stood the Grand Prix down.
“The rain is still coming down,” the championship added in a later post, underlining that conditions at the Malaysian circuit have not eased enough for a normal lights-out.
The delay comes on race day at Sepang, where Formula 1 has been documenting flood-like spray, soaked grandstands and marshals working under umbrellas as teams redraw wet-weather strategies.
No new start time had been confirmed in the posts. Formula 1 continues to issue live updates from the circuit under the #F1 and #BahrainGP tags.
