SEREMBAN, July 27, 2026 — Deputy Prime Minister and Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi on Monday urged early voters in the Negeri Sembilan state election to place their trust in BN candidates, saying it would help secure a more stable, progressive and prosperous future for the state.
In a post on his official X account, Zahid extended well-wishes to those casting ballots during early voting, which begins tomorrow (July 28).
“Esok bermulalah proses pengundian awal PRN Negeri Sembilan. Saya merayu agar diberikan kepercayaan kepada calon-calon Barisan Nasional demi masa depan Negeri Sembilan yang lebih stabil, maju dan sejahtera,” he wrote.
He also prayed for a smooth process and ended with the call: “Bersama kita hebatkan semula Negeri Sembilan!” accompanied by the hashtags #UndiBN, #GelombangBiru, #PRNNegeriSembilan and #HebatkanSemulaNegeriSembilan.
The post included a short promotional video featuring the waving Negeri Sembilan flag, BN’s “Terus Mantap” slogan, images of Zahid and supporters, and bold text wishing “Selamat Mengundi kepada semua pengundi awal” for the July 28 early polls. The graphic also displays the election date and Zahid’s titles as Deputy Prime Minister, Rural and Regional Development Minister, and BN chairman.
Early voting on July 28 is primarily for security personnel. More than 22,000 police and Malaysian Armed Forces members, along with their spouses, are eligible to cast ballots ahead of the main polling day on August 1.
The 16th Negeri Sembilan state election involves 36 Dewan Undangan Negeri seats. BN is fielding candidates in 25 constituencies, while the incumbent Pakatan Harapan coalition is contesting all 36. Nomination took place on July 18, with campaigning running until July 31.
Zahid’s message comes amid ongoing campaigning in the state, where BN is seeking to strengthen its position following recent state election outcomes elsewhere in the country.
