NEGERI SEMBILAN, 24 July 2026 – Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today engaged with the Orang Asli community during a friendly outreach programme in Kampung Tohor, within the Chennah state constituency.
The event, titled Programme Ramah Mesra Bersama Masyarakat Orang Asli Negeri Sembilan, saw the UMNO president and Minister of Rural and Regional Development interacting closely with residents. Zahid, dressed in traditional attire including a woven headgear, shook hands with community members, addressed the gathering under a tent, and posed for group photographs with locals and Barisan Nasional supporters.
In a statement shared on social media, Zahid stressed that development for the Orang Asli must be comprehensive. He said education, economic opportunities, basic infrastructure and welfare support must continue to be strengthened so that the community can enjoy a more comfortable and prosperous life.
He highlighted encouraging progress, noting that an increasing number of Orang Asli children are successfully pursuing higher education at tertiary institutions. “This is proof that with continuous opportunities and support, they are able to chart a brighter future,” he said.
Zahid reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the Orang Asli agenda, stating that efforts would continue to ensure no community is left behind in the nation’s development, particularly in Negeri Sembilan.
The programme forms part of ongoing Barisan Nasional outreach activities in the state.
