PUTRAJAYAJuly 16, 2026 — Datuk Bahria Mohd Tamil, Deputy Chief Secretary (Strategic Communication and Creative Industries) at Malaysia’s Ministry of Communications, attended the closing session of the Korea-Malaysia Knowledge Sharing Program 2025/2026 on July 15 at Menara Komunikasi.
The three-day program, held from July 13 to 15, brought together representatives from multiple Malaysian government agencies and key creative industry players to exchange views on the current state and future development of Malaysia’s creative sector with South Korean experts.
Participants included officials from the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Ministry of Digital, Perbadanan Kemajuan Filem Nasional Malaysia (FINAS), MyCreative Ventures, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Astro Shaw, and Cradle Fund.
The Korean delegation was led by the Korea Development Institute (KDI), serving as the program coordinator, alongside researchers from Seoul National University, Dongduk Women’s University, and Sookmyung Women’s University. Three local researchers and industry experts appointed from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and Institut Seni Kreatif Nusantara, Universiti Teknologi MARA (INSAN UiTM) also took part.
The sessions focused on sharing expertise, best practices, and strategic recommendations aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between Malaysia and South Korea in the creative industries.
The program forms part of Malaysia’s broader efforts under the MADANI framework to advance the national creative economy through international collaboration and knowledge exchange.
The Ministry of Communications highlighted the event as an important platform for fostering strategic partnerships and enhancing Malaysia’s position in the regional creative landscape.
