SEREMBAN, July 16, 2026 — Barisan Nasional (BN) held a large-scale candidate announcement and election machinery launch event at Stadium Paroi last night, marking the start of its campaign for the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state election.
BN Chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi described the gathering as a “Gelombang Biru” (Blue Wave) that has now reached Negeri Sembilan, energizing thousands of supporters and party machinery.
In a post on X, Zahid said the enthusiastic turnout gave confidence that the people of Negeri Sembilan want a “more stable, more experienced, and more trusted government” to lead the state.
“Alhamdulillah, the extraordinary spirit shown by thousands of supporters and the BN machinery last night gives us confidence that the rakyat of Negeri Sembilan want a more stable, more experienced and more trusted government to lead this state,” he wrote.
He noted that BN’s strong victory in Johor a few days earlier had provided a major morale boost but warned against complacency.
Zahid called on supporters to pray, work hard, and place their trust in Allah SWT for success in Negeri Sembilan.
“Ayuh kita tawan Negeri Sembilan! Kita lawan.. LAWAN SAMPAI MENANG!
Hidup Barisan Nasional!” he declared, using the hashtags #GelombangBiru #BNTerusMantap #HobinBNHobin #HobinSampaiMenang.
The event featured a packed stadium filled with supporters in blue attire waving BN flags bearing the scales of justice symbol. A large LED screen displayed BN leaders under the theme “STABIL • MAJU • MAKMUR” (Stable • Progressive • Prosperous), while candidates and party leaders were introduced on stage.
The rally comes ahead of the Negeri Sembilan state election, scheduled for August 1, 2026. BN is aiming to improve on its performance in the previous election.
Zahid also touched on economic issues during the program, noting that Negeri Sembilan recorded 4.6% economic growth last year — below the national average of 5.2%. He said BN would revive its previous growth foundations to deliver stronger results, similar to Johor’s performance under stable governance.
He criticized the current caretaker administration for failing to resolve the state’s constitutional crisis, saying it had affected development and investor confidence.
The vibrant atmosphere at Stadium Paroi, captured in photos from the event, showed a sea of blue flags, raised hands, and supporters recording the proceedings on their phones — reflecting the high energy BN hopes to carry into the August 1 polls.
BN leaders expressed optimism that the momentum from Johor’s decisive win would help the coalition mount a strong challenge in Negeri Sembilan.
