PUTRAJAYA, June 5, 2026 — Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today officially kicked off the Hari TVET Negara 2026 at Dataran Putrajaya, urging all Malaysians to attend the three-day national celebration of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
In a post on X, Dr Zahid, who also chairs the National TVET Council, expressed gratitude as the long-awaited event commenced, inviting families and friends to join the festivities from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily until June 7.

“Pelbagai aktiviti menarik menanti anda termasuk pameran teknologi dan inovasi, karnival kerjaya, pertandingan kemahiran, seminar industri, demonstrasi teknologi serta pelbagai pengisian interaktif untuk seisi keluarga,” he said.
The event brings together over 107 agencies, institutions, and industry players from nine key sectors, showcasing technology exhibitions, career opportunities (with nearly 3,000 job openings), skill competitions, industry seminars, and family-friendly interactive activities.
Key Highlights of the Programme:
- June 5 (Today): Deputy Prime Minister Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s walkabout at 3:00 PM.
- June 6: Official opening by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim at 10:00 AM.
- Daily Zones: Industry collaborations, TVET seminars, career carnival, entrepreneurship showcases, skill challenges, and informative entertainment.
TVET has been positioned as a primary career pathway under the Malaysia Madani framework, with the government declaring June 2 as National TVET Day annually to elevate skilled professions and support national development goals, including TVET 2.0 initiatives focused on technology and innovation.
The public is encouraged to visit Dataran Putrajaya to explore hands-on demonstrations, robotics and drone challenges, future skills showcases, and direct engagement with training providers and employers.
