KUALA LUMPUR, May 1, 2026 — Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim today extended Labour Day greetings to all Malaysian workers, reaffirming the government’s commitment to prioritising their welfare as the foundation of the nation’s prosperity under the MADANI governance framework.
In a message posted on X (formerly Twitter) this morning, Anwar described workers as the backbone of Malaysia’s economic strength and future.
“The government always places the people as its top priority, including defending the fate of every worker,” he stated.
“Workers form the backbone of the country’s prosperity. The integrity of the economy and Malaysia’s future cannot be realised without the efforts, commitment, and sacrifices of the workers,” he added.
Anwar assured that the government will continue to protect and empower workers’ welfare — including women workers and those working abroad — so that the fruits of national progress can be shared equitably by all.
He urged workers to move forward with renewed spirit to drive the country towards greater justice and prosperity.
“Happy Labour Day! ” the Prime Minister concluded, using the hashtags #MalaysiaMADANI, #MADANIbekerja and #YakinMADANI.

The message was accompanied by an official poster featuring a vibrant collage of diverse Malaysian workers from various sectors — including healthcare, construction, manufacturing, security, agriculture, and services — under the theme “Pekerja MADANI Kesuma Bangsa” (MADANI Workers, the Pride of the Nation). The design prominently displays the national coat of arms and the Malaysia MADANI logo, symbolising unity and inclusive growth.
This Labour Day message underscores the MADANI administration’s ongoing focus on labour rights, fair wages, and inclusive economic policies aimed at ensuring no worker is left behind in Malaysia’s development journey.
