KUALA LUMPUR April 18, 2026 – Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi today officiated the 46th General Assembly of the Malaysian Indian Muslim Congress (KIMMA), which drew nearly 1,000 delegates from across the country.
In his keynote address, the UMNO President and Barisan Nasional (BN) Chairman praised KIMMA’s long-standing loyalty and unwavering support for the coalition.
“Kesetiaan dan kebersamaan adalah asas kestabilan politik,” Zahid said, stressing that loyalty is not merely expressed in words but proven through consistent commitment and trust. He highlighted KIMMA’s role as a steadfast partner that has stood with BN through the years.
Zahid reiterated that BN continues to uphold the principles of unity and moderation in managing Malaysia’s diversity. He assured that cooperation with allies including KIMMA will be further strengthened based on clear positions and shared objectives aimed at ensuring national political stability.
“I am confident that with loyalty, sincerity and commitment from all parties, we can reinforce stability and build a more promising future for the country. Insya-Allah,” he added.
The event also saw the presentation of resolutions and active participation from KIMMA members, underscoring the organisation’s continued alignment with BN’s vision of inclusive governance.
The 46th Perhimpunan Agung KIMMA serves as a key platform for the Indian Muslim community to reaffirm its political direction and contribution to national development under the unity government framework.
