PUTRAJAYA April 17, 2026 – Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) Chairman Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz has stressed the critical role of direct engagement with foreign ambassadors to ensure their countries recognise Malaysia’s vast investment potential.
In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter), Tengku Zafrul said ambassadors must fully understand current developments in Malaysia to help their nations spot opportunities here.
“Kalau duta tak faham apa berlaku di Malaysia, negara mereka takkan nampak peluang di sini. Sebab itu kita pastikan mereka dengar sendiri perkembangan terkini – terus dari sumbernya,” he wrote.
He added that today’s global landscape has shifted beyond geopolitics to geo-economics, with Malaysia remaining a stable, neutral, and trusted partner.
“Dunia hari ini bukan lagi sekadar geopolitik, tapi geoekonomi. Dan Malaysia kekal stabil, neutral dan diyakini,” Tengku Zafrul noted.
Photos from the engagement session, posted alongside the statement, show Tengku Zafrul addressing diplomats at a podium, engaging in networking and handshakes, and posing for a group photograph with members of the diplomatic corps.
The session is part of MIDA’s ongoing efforts to position Malaysia as an attractive investment destination under the Malaysia MADANI framework.
Tengku Zafrul, who also serves as President of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), continues to champion proactive diplomatic outreach to drive economic growth.
