KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA March 11, 2026 – A total of 3,300 asnaf (eligible zakat recipients) in the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur have received cash contributions of RM200 each under the Nur Ramadan Federal Territory Programme for the year 2026/1447H.
The contribution presentation ceremony at the Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur level was officiated by Hannah Yeoh, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), together with Datuk Lo Su Fui, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories).
In the ceremony, 300 asnaf from the Segambut Parliamentary constituency received their contributions directly through the zakat allocation from the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP). Hannah Yeoh also presented special contributions of RM5,000 each to three religious institutions: Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan, Sekolah Rendah Agama Ibnu Kathir, and Madrasah Manbaul Uloom. These contributions serve as a token of appreciation and support for these institutions, which are strategic partners in community development and religious education in the territory.
The implementation of the Nur Ramadan Federal Territory Programme 2026 reflects the Malaysian Government’s ongoing commitment to caring for the underprivileged across all three Federal Territories (Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, and Labuan), in line with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI.
