PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia, June 23, 2025 — Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim chaired the meeting of the Board of Trustees for the Bumiputera Investment Foundation this morning to review the performance of companies under its umbrella.
In the face of global economic uncertainties, Anwar emphasized the need to strengthen domestic economic competitiveness and ensure sustainable returns for unit trust holders. He urged Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB) and Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad (PHB) to double their efforts in enhancing investment literacy, particularly among the Bumiputera community.
Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB) was directed to remain committed to empowering Bumiputera entrepreneurs by providing access to financing and supporting business capacity and capability development.
Anwar stressed that all government-related agencies and companies with a mandate for Bumiputera development must continue to drive and implement government initiatives, especially through the launched Bumiputera Economic Transformation Plan (PuTERA35).
The meeting underscores the government’s ongoing efforts to bolster economic resilience and support for the Bumiputera community amid challenging global conditions.
