PUTRAJAYA, MALAYSIA 30 January 2026 – The government today reiterated that there will be no compromise in taking action against any public servant found guilty of violating laws related to abuse of power and corruption, particularly at the highest levels of management.
In a media statement issued by the Chief Secretary to the Government (KSN), Tan Sri Shamsul Azri bin Abu Bakar, he stated that the public service will not compromise in taking action against public servants who violate legal provisions if found guilty, in light of recent issues involving arrests and investigations into abuse of power and corruption.
“The Public Service will provide full cooperation to the authorities to conduct thorough and transparent investigations to ensure the principle of justice is upheld for the parties under investigation,” he stressed.
He also emphasised that the principle of rejecting abuse of power, corruption, and governance malpractice must be upheld at all times, in line with the pledge of the Rukun Negara and the Public Service pledge, to ensure that the image and credibility of the public service are not tarnished.
Such behaviour, he said, can erode public trust in the country’s core institutions, as frequently emphasised by the Yang Amat Berhormat Prime Minister.
“The value of integrity will always remain the core of effective public service delivery, reducing leakage of national revenue, and defending national security and sovereignty in line with the aspirations of the MADANI Malaysia Government,” he added.
This statement is viewed as the government’s official response to recent issues involving abuse of power and corruption among senior public servants, demonstrating a firm commitment to maintaining clean and integrity-driven governance.
