KL Car Free Morning ‘Istimewa Run’ Promotes Inclusive Sports for OKU Community

MALAYSIA, KUALA LUMPUR, 15 June 2025 – Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh officiated the KL Car Free Morning (Istimewa Run) 2025 at Dataran Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL), a key event under the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ (KBS) Sports Culture Development Programme for Minority Groups.

Held in conjunction with the National Youth Day (HBN) 2025 celebrations, the programme was organised by the Kuala Lumpur Youth and Sports Department in collaboration with the Kuala Lumpur Athletics Association.

The Istimewa Run saw 300 participants from the Persons with Disabilities (OKU) community take part in 3km and 5km Fun Run events.

The initiative aims to empower the OKU community to engage in sports and adopt an active lifestyle, aligning with Malaysia’s vision to become a Sporting Nation. KBS remains committed to fostering an inclusive sports culture across all societal groups.
