Datuk Ruji Ubi Visits Iban Community Homes in Merotai, Emphasizes People’s and Leaders’ Affection

MEROTAI, TAWAU. SABAH, MALAYSIA Nov 13, 2025 – Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Merotai State Legislative Assembly (DUN), Datuk Ruji Ubi, today visited homes of the Iban community in a local village, delivering messages of warmth and commitment to inclusive development for Sabah and all of Malaysia.

In a social media post, Datuk Ruji described the visit as a heartwarming experience. “Alhamdulillah, today I stepped into the homes of the Iban community in this village. Every greeting, smile, and story shared felt warm—not just meeting, but truly listening to the heartbeat of the community,” he wrote.

He emphasized that amid the laughter and friendly conversations, the community conveyed a key message: “the people’s love, the leaders’ love.” Datuk Ruji views every small step like this visit as the foundation for greater change, hoping to strengthen cooperation and brotherhood among ethnic groups.

“May we collaborate well and strengthen the brotherhood between races for a progressive Merotai, ensuring no ethnic group is left behind,” he added, showcasing a vision for equitable development without leaving any group behind.

As the former Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Datuk Ruji Ubi is known for his extensive experience in public administration and commitment to community issues. This visit is seen as part of PH’s campaign efforts ahead of the Sabah state election, where he is contesting in the Merotai DUN to promote a social justice-based development agenda.
