PUTRAJAYA. MALAYSIA Nov 2, 2025 – Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been forced to cancel his scheduled working visit to the state of Pahang today, following medical advice regarding back pain he is experiencing.
According to a media statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the last-minute cancellation was made after Anwar suffered from back pain that limited his mobility. On the doctor’s advice, he has been recommended to obtain sufficient rest for recovery.
In the statement issued today, Anwar expressed his deepest regrets, particularly to the people of Pahang who had prepared to welcome his presence.
The working visit was supposed to involve a series of meetings and official activities in the state, but it has now been canceled to prioritize the national leader’s health. No further details have been provided at this time regarding the duration of rest or a replacement visit.
The Prime Minister’s Office emphasized Anwar’s ongoing commitment to the country’s development agenda, including in Pahang, and hopes to reschedule the visit as soon as possible.
