KUCHING, SARAWAK, Malaysia , Sept 7, 2025 – The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) today concluded the 2025 KPDN Carnival Tour and Buy Malaysian Goods Campaign (KBBM) in the Sarawak Zone at Kuching Waterfront. This three-day event, the third in the series after Johor Bahru and Ranau, Sabah, underscores KPDN’s commitment to the MADANI Economic Framework, aiming to boost national economic growth and enhance public welfare.

The carnival adopts a ‘Whole of Nation’ approach, engaging government agencies, private sectors, and the public to address living costs. It serves as a platform for KPDN to deliver services through four key areas: enforcement to protect consumer rights, domestic economy to empower local entrepreneurs, consumer empowerment via education, and cost-of-living initiatives like Payung RAHMAH and RAHMAH MADANI Sales.

Aligned with Malaysia Day on September 16, 2025, the event promotes the “Jom Beli Lokal” campaign, supporting local Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (PMKS). With 52 local entrepreneurs participating, the carnival highlights 8,645 Malaysia-branded SKUs and 24,443 Made-in-Malaysia SKUs as of August 2025. A key attraction was the symbolic launch of the JenamaLokal300 package, offering a RM300 discount on trademark fees, reducing costs from RM950 to RM650 for 10-year protection.
Dato’ Seri Mohd Sayuthi bin Bakar, KPDN Secretary-General, emphasized the carnival’s role in strengthening the local ecosystem and elevating Malaysian products globally.
