KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia. July 3, 2025 – Malaysia’s Digital Minister, Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, officially launched the Selangor Twin Xccelerator Programme 2025 today at the Asia School of Business, marking a significant step toward strengthening the nation’s digital economy. The initiative, spearheaded by the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (SIDEC), aims to empower small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and deep tech startups through two focused tracks: Retail-X and Deep-X.

The Retail-X track targets retail SMEs, equipping them with tools like livestream selling, automation, and data analytics to modernize operations and compete in the digital marketplace. Partnering with industry giants such as TikTok Shop, Plug & Play APAC, Xendit, Shoplane, AEON, Cradle, and DHL, the program ensures SMEs gain the support needed to scale and thrive.
Meanwhile, Deep-X focuses on fostering innovation in artificial intelligence (AI), advanced engineering, data science, smart mobility, biotech, and sustainability. The program offers training, funding, and access to global platforms like Plug and Play in Silicon Valley, positioning Malaysia to lead in next-generation technologies.
“Digitalisation is no longer optional—it’s essential,” Minister Gobind emphasized, highlighting the government’s commitment to inclusive innovation. “This programme reflects our belief that innovation must be backed by real support, access, and opportunities to grow.”
The minister praised Selangor’s proactive efforts in building a future-ready ecosystem, citing initiatives like the Malaysia Semiconductor IC Design Park and the Advanced Semiconductor Academy of Malaysia (ASEM). He also outlined the Ministry of Digital’s plans to streamline policies, introduce AI-driven entrepreneurship incentives, and enhance Malaysia’s innovation infrastructure.
Addressing the founders and strategic partners in attendance, Gobind underscored their critical role in shaping Malaysia’s digital future. “Every pitch, every prototype, every breakthrough—they shape the Malaysia we’re building,” he said.
The launch of the Selangor Twin Xccelerator Programme 2025 signals a bold commitment to fostering high-impact startups and positioning Malaysia as a global leader in retail and deep tech innovation.
