KEDAH, Malaysia June 28 – Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail today took the opportunity to visit the family of the late Constable Akmal Wafi Annuar, a Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) member who lost his life in a recent incident, while in Kedah.

Saifuddin shared that the late Wafi, who was still on probation as a police officer, had just begun his career in the security forces. Following discussions with the Police Force Commission, Wafi’s appointment has now been officially confirmed.
“This confirmation is crucial to ensure his parents are eligible to receive a monthly pension as dependents, providing ongoing support for the family,” he said.
The late Wafi, the eldest of five siblings, was remembered as someone who made his family proud. During a brief meeting with Wafi’s younger siblings, Saifuddin urged them to study diligently and carry forward their late brother’s spirit to honor their parents.
“The sacrifice of the late Wafi was not small. He lost his life while fulfilling his duty as a member of the nation’s security forces,” he said.
Saifuddin prayed that the soul of the late Constable Akmal Wafi Annuar be blessed with mercy, placed among the martyrs, and his service remembered as a national hero. – Bernama
