PUTRAJAYA July 4, 2026 — Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim today called for the Bumiputera economic agenda to deliver concrete outcomes rather than remaining confined to seminars, discussions, and resolutions.
Speaking at the official opening of SParK 2026: Forum Niaga x Bazar (Transformasi Niaga) organised by Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad (PUNB) at the IOI Grand Exhibition & Convention Centre in Putrajaya, the Prime Minister stressed the need to move from promises to tangible achievements grounded in good governance and accountability.
“The Bumiputera Agenda must be translated into real results and can no longer just end with seminars, discourses, or mere resolutions,” Anwar said. “The time has come for us to shift from rhetoric to implementation, from promises to achievements, based on good governance and accountability.”
He emphasised that the MADANI Government will continue empowering entrepreneurs who build capacity and are willing to compete, but warned there would be zero tolerance for leakages, misuse of funds, corruption, or any “culture of siphoning” that betrays public trust.
During the event, which also marks PUNB’s 35th anniversary, it was announced that PUNB aims to approve up to RM2.25 billion in financing for Bumiputera entrepreneurs between 2026 and 2030 under its R30 Strategic Framework.
Anwar noted that PUNB has performed satisfactorily so far and said the government may consider additional allocations if the agency maintains its momentum. He highlighted several new initiatives, including:
- Reduced financing rates under PROSPER GROW (as low as 3.5% per annum)
- New programmes: PROSPER GROW BIZ EXPRESS, PROSPER GROW FUEL UP, and PROSPER GROW AUTO BIZ
- Strengthened focus on scaling up competitive Bumiputera companies, creating quality jobs, and strengthening national supply chains
The two-day event (July 4–5) features industry forums, knowledge-sharing sessions, networking opportunities, and a large entrepreneur bazaar with over 70 booths. It aims to connect Bumiputera entrepreneurs with markets, knowledge, networks, and growth opportunities in a competitive business environment.
PUNB has supported over 15,500 entrepreneur partners since its establishment in 1991, with cumulative approved financing exceeding RM5.15 billion across various sectors.
The Prime Minister’s remarks at the launch reinforced the government’s commitment to developing more resilient, competitive, and high-performing Bumiputera companies capable of becoming national economic champions.
