KUALA PILAH, July 15, 2026 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) officially launched its campaign for the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state election yesterday with a high-energy candidate announcement ceremony that drew thousands of supporters to Dataran Melang here.
PH chairman and Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim led the unveiling of the coalition’s complete list of 36 candidates for all seats in the 16th Negeri Sembilan State Legislative Assembly. The election is scheduled for August 1, 2026.
The event turned Kuala Pilah into a sea of red — the signature colour of PH — with supporters waving flags and filling the venue. Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil captured the moment on X, writing:
“Kuala Pilah berwarna merah malam tadi! Ribuan warga Negeri Sembilan membanjiri Dataran Melang, Kuala Pilah bagi menyaksikan pengumuman 36 calon Pakatan Harapan…”
He described the candidates as “berkaliber, berwibawa dan bersedia untuk berkhidmat” (qualified, authoritative and ready to serve) and praised the PH-led state government’s record under caretaker Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun (Tok Min), noting that it had proven change is possible through a transparent and trustworthy administration.
Anwar expressed strong confidence in Aminuddin’s leadership, stating that the caretaker MB would continue to deliver results and work closely with the federal government for the state’s development.
The polls follow the dissolution of the state assembly earlier this year amid political developments in Negeri Sembilan. PH enters the contest defending its position in the state under the campaign slogan “Kekal Harapan, Kekal Tok Min!” (Stay with Harapan, Stay with Tok Min!).
Nomination day is expected this weekend, with polling set for August 1.
The announcement has generated significant buzz on social media, with PH supporters expressing enthusiasm for the line-up and the coalition’s push to retain power in Negeri Sembilan.
