KUALA LUMPUR, June 1, 2026 — The Ministry of Finance (MOF) has reassured eligible Malaysians that the monthly quota for the BUDI95 subsidised RON95 petrol programme stays unchanged at 200 litres per person, including for June 2026.
The clarification comes after some users noticed a temporary display of only 150 litres in the system late on May 31, 2026, sparking concern.
In an official statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), the MOF explained that the lower figure was due to a technical glitch during scheduled system maintenance. The error has since been identified and fully resolved.
“Had kelayakan BUDI95 kekal 200 liter sebulan. Paparan 150 liter adalah ralat teknikal yang telah diselesaikan ketika penyelenggaraan sistem,” the ministry stated.
“Untuk makluman, had BUDI95 KEKAL 200 liter sebulan termasuk bagi bulan Jun 2026. Tiada sebarang perubahan telah dibuat terhadap had bulanan BUDI95.”
The BUDI Madani RON95 (BUDI95) programme provides subsidised RON95 petrol at RM1.99 per litre to qualifying Malaysian citizens. The quota was reduced from 300 litres to 200 litres effective April 1, 2026, as a temporary measure amid global supply concerns linked to conflicts in West Asia.
The government has maintained the subsidised price despite rising international fuel costs, with the 200-litre limit aimed at ensuring sustainable distribution of the subsidy to those who need it most.
Motorists are advised to check their eligibility through the official BUDI95 portal or app, as additional quotas may be available for certain groups such as e-hailing drivers based on verified usage data.
This latest update aims to dispel any confusion and reaffirm the government’s commitment to targeted fuel subsidies under the #EkonomiMADANI and #Belanjawan2026 initiatives.
