KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA January 6, 2026 – The Malaysian Youth Council (Majlis Belia Malaysia, MBM) has welcomed the MADANI Government’s continued commitment to institutional reforms, particularly the separation of the roles of Attorney General and Public Prosecutor, and the planned legislation to limit the tenure of the Prime Minister.
In a media statement issued today, MBM described these measures as vital steps to strengthen governance, institutional integrity, and the balance of power within the country’s democratic system.
MBM also expressed appreciation for the government’s efforts to ease the cost of living through initiatives such as Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) and Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA), which it said would provide immediate relief to the rakyat, especially young people and young families.
Additionally, MBM thanked the government for acceding to its request to extend the Sejati MADANI initiative to youth organisations. The council pledged close cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Implementation Coordination Unit of the Prime Minister’s Department (ICU JPM) to ensure the programme’s effective rollout.
However, MBM stressed that the government should now prioritise youth employment opportunities and dignified wages to enable young Malaysians to build stable and resilient futures.
The statement was signed by MBM President Mohd Izzat Afifi Hj Abdul Hamid.
