KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia June 29, 2025 – Dato’ Sri Suriani binti Dato’ Ahmad, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH), was awarded the prestigious “Women of the Decade” title at the Women Economic Forum (WEF) ASEAN 2025, held in Kuala Lumpur.

Themed “Women Leaders Transcending Boundaries: Shaping the Future of ASEAN Women’s Economy,” the forum, organized by Yayasan Bina Kesejahteraan (YBCare), gathered over 300 influential women leaders from Malaysia, Asia, and beyond. The event celebrated women’s transformative roles in driving global economic growth and fostered impactful discussions.
Joining Dato’ Sri Suriani in receiving the award were Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, CEO of Bernama; Datuk Seri TPr (Dr.) Maimunah Mohd Sharif, Mayor of Kuala Lumpur City Hall; and Tan Sri Dr. Sharifah Zarah Syed Ahmad, former Secretary-General of the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia.
The Ministry of Health Malaysia congratulated the recipients, highlighting their contributions to advancing women’s leadership and economic empowerment.
