PUTRAJAYA, Malaysia, July 2, 2025 — Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi congratulated Fariq Al Nazaha from SMKA Maahad Hamidiah, Selangor, for clinching the STAR Cyber Hero category at the ASEAN My Cyber Hero 2025 competition, held during the Cyber Defence & Security Exhibition and Conference (CYDES) 2025 at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) yesterday.

The religious school team emerged victorious among 22 top teams, selected from 4,419 teams and 13,218 participants nationwide. Ahmad Zahid, who witnessed the competition, praised the participants’ exceptional skills, highlighting the event as a showcase of Malaysia’s young talent in high-tech fields.
“This competition reflects the successful blend of Huffaz values, leadership spirit, and digital excellence—embodying the ideal Malaysian generation rooted in knowledge, high morals, and ready to lead the digital era with strong identity,” he said.
Organized by the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA), National Security Council, and Micro Concept Tech Sdn Bhd, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Alpine Integrated Solution Sdn Bhd, and industry partners, the initiative aims to nurture Malaysia’s youth potential on the global stage, particularly in the increasingly critical field of cybersecurity.
Ahmad Zahid expressed hope that the victory would inspire more young Malaysians to pursue cybersecurity, TVET, and future technologies.
“Insha’Allah, we will continue to support and empower the nation’s next generation,” he said, urging greater participation in these vital fields to strengthen Malaysia’s digital future.
