SUNGAI PETANI, KEDAH, Malaysia. Aug 6, 2025 – Kedah police have seized approximately 66.442 kilograms of suspected cannabis flowers in a raid near Lot 88, Sungai Petani, Kedah, believed to have been smuggled from a neighboring country.

Kedah Police Chief CP Adzli Abu Shah announced during a press conference that five individuals—three men and two women—were detained to assist in the investigation.
Valued at an estimated RM2.3 million, the seizure marks one of the largest cannabis hauls this year.
The case is being investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a mandatory death penalty or life imprisonment upon conviction.
