TENOM, SABAH, November 19. 2025 – Pakatan Harapan (PH-DAP) candidate for the Kapayan state seat, Jannie Lasimbang, was in Kampung Mamaitom, Tenom this morning to throw her full support behind PH-DAP’s Kemabong candidate, Noorita Sual.
Speaking to villagers, Jannie stressed the importance of backing a local indigenous woman candidate from Kemabong who truly understands the heartbeat of her own community.
“I want to emphasise how crucial it is for us to support a local woman candidate from Kemabong – a true daughter of the soil, an indigenous person who genuinely understands the pulse of her own community,” Jannie said.

As two indigenous women entrusted to contest under the PH-DAP ticket, Jannie said she and Noorita share the same determination to defend indigenous rights and amplify the voices of their community.
“We share the same resolve to defend the rights of indigenous people and to bring our community’s voice forward,” she asserted.
Jannie also praised DAP’s consistent commitment to empowering women, highlighting that it is the only party fielding up to 50% women candidates.
“DAP has been consistent in its commitment to empower women. We are the only party offering up to 50% women candidates because we believe women’s leadership is not just important – it is necessary to bring about fairer and more inclusive change,” Jannie explained.
She expressed full confidence in Noorita, the two-term incumbent Kemabong assemblywoman.
“I am confident that Sdri Noorita will continue to fight for the dignity of women and the rights of indigenous people with unwavering determination,” she added.
