PUTRAJAYA, June 5, 2026 — Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Dr. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi toured the opening day of Hari TVET Negara 2026 at Dataran Putrajaya today, expressing satisfaction with the strong public turnout, especially among youths, students, and families.
In a statement on X (formerly Twitter), Zahid highlighted the vibrant atmosphere at the three-day event, which runs from June 5 to 7. He noted that many visitors, including parents bringing their children, came to explore vocational education, skills training, and career opportunities offered through TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training).
“I am delighted to see the participation of people from all walks of life, particularly the youth and students who came to discover the potential in this field,” Zahid said. “There were also parents who brought their children to witness the vast opportunities available.”
The Deputy Prime Minister, who also serves as Minister of Rural and Regional Development, toured various exhibition booths showcasing skills demonstrations and advanced technologies. He extended congratulations and thanks to the organisers and exhibitors for their efforts in making the event a success.
Zahid invited all Malaysians to join the official opening ceremony tomorrow, June 6, which will be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. “Come with your family and friends. There are still many interesting activities waiting for you throughout the celebration,” he added.
The event at Dataran Putrajaya features interactive exhibitions, skills demonstrations, technology showcases, career opportunities, and family-friendly activities. It aims to position TVET as a premier career choice and national agenda, involving over 100 agencies, institutions, and industry players across key sectors.
