Deputy Finance Minister Praises Tawau Customs’ Commitment to Revenue Collection and Integrity

TAWAU, SABAH, Malaysia, 5 July 2025 – Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying visited the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM) Tawau Station on an official working visit, commending the discipline and meticulousness of Tawau Customs personnel, which reflect high-quality teamwork and strong commitment to their duties.

In her speech, she emphasized the critical role of the Customs Department under the Ministry of Finance and engaged directly with Tawau Customs staff to bridge the gap between Putrajaya and Tawau. “My presence here with the delegation aims to foster closer ties,” she said.

Lim also congratulated JKDM Tawau for their outstanding achievements in national revenue collection and efforts to combat smuggling, ensuring the nation’s economic borders remain secure. She hailed Customs personnel as “national heroes” for their dedication, while stressing the importance of integrity in daily operations. “Without high integrity, public trust in the department will erode. Let us reject corruption and abuse of power,” she urged.

She concluded by lauding Tawau Customs for their efforts and achievements, calling for continued unity as a team to ensure robust national revenue collection for the well-being of the people and the prosperity of Malaysia.
