KUALA LUMPUR, June 16, 2026 — Malaysia’s Democratic Action Party (DAP) Federal Territories chapter has premiered a special documentary titled “60 Tahun: Perjalanan DAP di Wilayah Persekutuan” (60 Years: DAP’s Journey in the Federal Territories), marking six decades of the party’s advocacy for reforms, justice, and multi-racial inclusivity.
DAP National Chairman and Minister of Digital Gobind Singh Deo shared the announcement on social media, describing the film as more than a documentary. It serves as a reflection of the party’s core principles, a tribute to the struggles, challenges, and sacrifices that shaped its path from opposition to governance.
“This is an opportunity for Malaysians to understand more closely our consistent efforts over six decades in fighting for meaningful reforms for a better Malaysia for all,” Gobind said. He emphasized that diversity remains the party’s strength and that shared commitment to a fairer and more inclusive Malaysia continues to drive it forward.
The premiere event featured DAP leaders on stage amid celebratory confetti showers, party flags, and large banners proclaiming “Malaysia untuk Rakyat Malaysia” (Malaysia for Malaysians). Attendees, including veteran and current leaders, held puzzle-piece signs symbolizing themes such as Harapan (Hope), Kemakmuran (Prosperity), Kesaksamaan (Equality), and Hak Asasi (Human Rights), reflecting the party’s multi-lingual and inclusive ethos.
The documentary is part of broader celebrations for DAP’s 60th anniversary. It chronicles the party’s early difficult years, evolution, and contributions to national development in the Federal Territories, including Kuala Lumpur. It is now available for public viewing on the UbahTV YouTube channel.
DAP, a key component of the ruling Pakatan Harapan coalition, has long positioned itself as a champion of good governance, social justice, and equitable policies across Malaysia’s diverse communities. The release of the documentary comes as the party highlights its journey from a vocal opposition force to an integral part of the federal government.
