PUTRAJAYA, June 22, 2026 — Communications Minister Dato’ Fahmi Fadzil has extended congratulations to Erwin Khairul Ahmad on his appointment as the new Director General of Jabatan Penerangan Malaysia (Information Department), and to Wan Saidatul Shafina Mohd Amin as Deputy Director General (Digital Content).
In a statement posted on X today, Fahmi expressed hope that the new leadership would serve with full dedication, wisdom, and high spirit to strengthen the department’s role as an effective medium for delivering accurate information to the public.
“I also record my appreciation and millions of thanks to Puan Julina Johan, the former Director General, for all her services, contributions, and dedication throughout her leadership of the department,” he added.
The appointments, effective today, were formalised by the Public Service Department. Group photos shared by the minister show Fahmi with the new appointees and other officials in formal settings at the ministry.
The leadership transition aligns with the government’s Malaysia MADANI and Yakin MADANI initiatives, emphasising transparent and effective public communication.
Erwin Khairul Ahmad and Wan Saidatul Shafina bring extensive experience in communications and public information management to their new roles.
