KUALA PILAH, July 15, 2026 — Prime Minister and Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim last night introduced the coalition’s full slate of candidates for the upcoming Negeri Sembilan state election.
The announcement took place at an event in Kuala Pilah, where Anwar addressed supporters and presented the candidates who will contest all 36 seats in the state legislative assembly.
In a post on X, Anwar praised incumbent Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun for his focus on public welfare.
“Throughout working together with brother Aminuddin Harun, I have seen a Chief Minister who prioritizes trust. He does not talk much about himself; instead, he focuses on work and the well-being of the people,” Anwar said.
He highlighted the strong synergy between the state and federal governments, which has enabled smoother implementation of projects and initiatives for the benefit of Negeri Sembilan residents.
Anwar stressed the importance of leadership continuity, noting that the state is on a positive path. He called on all Negeri Sembilan residents — regardless of race, religion, or background — to give PH a mandate to continue its work.
“This mandate is not to elevate any individual, but to ensure that the plans that have already been started can be completed for the welfare of the people, our children, and future generations,” he stated.
If given continued trust, Anwar pledged that PH would “work harder, listen more closely, and shoulder this responsibility fully” to make Negeri Sembilan a more prosperous, stable, and advanced state.
The Negeri Sembilan state election is scheduled for August 1, 2026. Nomination day is set for July 18, with early voting on July 28.
PH, the incumbent coalition under Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun, is seeking to retain power following its strong performance in the previous term. The full list of PH candidates (from PKR, DAP, and Amanah) was unveiled at the event, including several incumbents. Aminuddin Harun himself is contesting the Linggi seat.
The hashtags accompanying the announcement — #KekalHARAPAN, #MemaknaiHARAPANrakyat, and #UndiHARAPAN — signal PH’s campaign theme of continuity and hope.
The event marks the start of PH’s official campaign push ahead of what analysts expect to be a competitive poll.
