KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, Aug 26, 2025 — Cybercrime has become one of Malaysia’s most pressing security challenges, with online fraud now recording the highest number of commercial crime cases in the country, according to Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
Speaking as a panelist at the Cybercrime Ministerial Forum themed “Cybercrime in Malaysia: Challenges and Collaborative Solutions” and officiating the closing of the PDRM Special Dialogue III 2025, Saifuddin highlighted the alarming sophistication of cybercriminals. He noted their adept use of emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence and social media platforms, to perpetrate crimes.

“Tackling cybercrime cannot fall solely on the police. It demands collaboration from all stakeholders—government, private sector, communities, and individuals,” he emphasized.
Saifuddin also announced that the upcoming PDRM Special Dialogue Series 4, scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025, will focus on road safety and traffic management—issues he described as critical to the daily lives of Malaysians.
The Home Minister reaffirmed the Ministry of Home Affairs’ full commitment to supporting these dialogues, ensuring they serve as platforms for not only discussion but also the development of practical solutions to enhance public safety and uphold national dignity.
