KUALA LUMPUR, 15 August 2025 — TanahAir Films Sdn. Bhd., with renewed commitment and fresh aspirations, announces that Konsert Legasi P. Ramlee, one of the signature events under the Projek Perdana P. Ramlee initiative, will undergo a major transformation. Supported by the involvement of various ministries and corporate sectors, the event will expand from a one-night performance into a full-fledged national arts and culture festival.

Scheduled for 2026, the festival will debut in a new format that is more vibrant, inclusive and impactful, strengthened by the backing of strategic partners who view it as a national heritage platform with tremendous potential to unite the arts, culture and creative industries.
“We no longer view the Konsert Legasi P. Ramlee as just a one-off show. This is the foundation of a sustainable national cultural brand. With the involvement of orchestras, Malaysia’s top performers, and key players in the creative industry, this transformation will allow greater public and corporate participation, expanding both reach and impact,” said Dato’ Khairul Anwar Salleh, Executive Director of TanahAir Films.
He added that the shift into a festival format unlocks more meaningful engagement opportunities for brands and sponsors including creative activations, social involvement and broader national messaging across multiple platforms.
“From the concert stage to the cultural arts arena, this festival gives us the opportunity to revive the spirit and soul of P. Ramlee in multiple dimensions. I see this as a chance to broaden the very meaning of legacy itself. Tan Sri P. Ramlee was not just an artist, he embodied values, the spirit of an era, the voice of a nation and the mind of a visionary unafraid to address issues, values, and emotions. This new approach will bring his legacy even closer to today’s generation,” said Adlin Aman Ramlie, Creative Director of the Festival and one of the leads of the Projek Perdana P. Ramlee initiative.
TanahAir Films extends its heartfelt thanks to all strategic partners, sponsors and members of the media who have steadfastly supported the Projek Perdana P. Ramlee initiative from the very beginning. This postponement is seen as a bold step to ensure that the upcoming festival will truly stand as a national-scale arts and cultural event with lasting impact. TanahAir Films apologises for any inconvenience caused and hopes that this unwavering support will continue to accompany them in realising a project that will be remembered for generations to come.
