KUALA LUMPUR, 3 November – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has shared highlights from his recent visit to Kelantan, where he met local communities and handed over business equipment assistance to Kelantan entrepreneurs.
In a post on X on Tuesday, accompanied by a video, Anwar wrote: “Around my recent visit to Kelantan. Glad to meet the people of Kelantan and hand over business equipment assistance to Kelantan entrepreneurs.”
The post underscores the Prime Minister’s focus on supporting small and medium entrepreneurs outside the main urban centres, framing the equipment aid as a practical boost for Kelantan businesses rather than a ceremonial gesture alone. He did not, in the post, name the recipient firms or the types of equipment supplied.
After meeting entrepreneurs, Anwar said he continued to Pondok Lubok Tapah. “Afterwards I went to Pondok Lubok Tapah, easing longing and recalling memories when Azizah and I were invited to stay overnight there by the late Tuan Guru Haji Abdullah Haji Abdul Rahman more than two decades ago,” he wrote.
The reference to Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and the late Tuan Guru Haji Abdullah Haji Abdul Rahman places the stop in a personal and religious context that Anwar has previously linked to his ties with Kelantan’s pondok tradition. Pondok Lubok Tapah is presented in the post as a place of earlier hospitality rather than a new discovery.
He said the evening programme included a selawat gathering. “In the evening, we were able to gather at a selawat gathering and listen to a tausiah from the tuan guru before returning. Alhamdulillah,” Anwar added.
Selawat gatherings and tausiah sessions are common features of pondok and community religious events in Kelantan. Anwar’s account presents the night as both a reunion with familiar surroundings and a public engagement with local religious leadership before he returned from the visit.
The X post was tagged with the government slogans #MalaysiaMADANI and #YakinMADANI. It did not list the value of the equipment aid, the number of recipients, or the exact calendar dates of each stop, and Life News Agency has not independently confirmed those details beyond Anwar’s own statement and the accompanying video.
Anwar’s Kelantan itinerary, as described in the post, therefore combines an economic outreach element — the handover of business equipment to local usahawan — with a personal visit to Pondok Lubok Tapah and participation in an evening religious programme.

Alhamdulillah.”
