SEPANG Oct 4, 2026 — Formula 1 said Isack Hadjar briefly left the wet track during the Bahrain Grand Prix formation sequence at Sepang International Circuit before recovering and rejoining the field.
In a live update on its official account, the championship wrote “Steady, Isack!” and said Hadjar “slithers off but finds his way back on track” as spray and standing water continued to make conditions treacherous.
The incident came as the field completed formation laps behind the Safety Car after heavy rain delayed the race start at the Malaysian circuit, which is hosting the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
Formula 1 shared trackside images of the moment under the #F1 and #BahrainGP tags. No further details on damage or position loss were given in the post.
