SEPANG, SELANGOR October 3, 2026 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim visited the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team pit at the Sepang International Circuit on Saturday afternoon, where he was briefed on the team’s operations and held a friendly exchange with Team Principal Toto Wolff.
According to a post on Anwar’s official X account, the Prime Minister also met Malaysian staff who contribute their expertise to the Silver Arrows outfit.
“I was given a briefing on the team’s operations and had a friendly chat with Team Principal Toto Wolff and the Malaysians who also contribute their expertise in this team,” Anwar said in Malay in the post, describing the afternoon pit visit.
The visit took place at the Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia’s premier motorsport venue, which has long hosted Formula One and other international racing events.
Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS is one of Formula One’s leading constructors. Wolff has been the team’s principal for more than a decade.
Anwar’s stop at the garage underscores ongoing interest in Malaysia’s motorsport ecosystem and the role of Malaysian engineers and specialists working with global racing programmes.
