In posts on his official X account on Saturday, Gobind said the programme the previous night marked the Mid-Autumn Festival — also known as the Mooncake Festival — in a warm spirit of togetherness and harmony, with delicious food, cheerful conversations and laughter.
“At the Warga Emas Berdikari programme last night, we celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival in a warm spirit of togetherness and harmony. It was a relaxed evening filled with delicious food, cheerful conversations and plenty of laughter,” he wrote.
He said he truly commended the community’s efforts in ensuring that the senior citizens under their care remain active, informed and empowered with useful skills, so they can continue to lead more fulfilling and independent lives.
“May this spirit of care and togetherness continue to grow, and may our senior citizens always feel valued, supported and connected to the community around them,” Gobind added.
The event was linked to the P106 Damansara parliamentary constituency and Selayang, with tags highlighting senior citizens, independence and community programmes. Gobind also shared photos and video from the celebration on X.
