WASHINGTON October 2, 2026 — The United States has sent Patriot missiles to Saudi Arabia and Qatar to protect energy sites, according to a report circulated by BRICS News.
BRICS News said the systems were being deployed to both Gulf states as part of measures aimed at shielding critical energy infrastructure.
“US sends Patriot missiles to Saudi Arabia and Qatar to protect energy sites,” the outlet reported in a post published on Friday.
Patriot is a US-made surface-to-air missile system used to intercept aircraft and missiles. The report did not give numbers of launchers or interceptors moved, the timing of deliveries, or which energy facilities were being prioritised.
Saudi Arabia and Qatar are major oil and gas producers in the Gulf. The BRICS News account accompanied the report with imagery of a US flag and a Patriot launch, but provided no further operational detail.
Life News Agency has not independently verified the deployment beyond the BRICS News report. Official confirmation from Washington, Riyadh or Doha was not included in the circulating post.
