MANJUNG, Sept 15 2026 — Police at the Manjung District Police Headquarters (IPD Manjung) today disposed of 35,516 seized case items linked to gambling, bitcoin mining, and cigarette and liquor smuggling, with a total estimated value of RM2.95 million.
Perak Deputy Police Chief Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Mohammad Azlin Sadari said the disposal covered 173 investigation papers from 2019 to 2026, comprising 125 gambling cases, 38 bitcoin cases, and 10 cigarette and liquor cases.
Of the overall value, exhibits linked to cigarettes and liquor were the highest at RM1.575 million, followed by bitcoin-related items at RM1.275 million and gambling exhibits at RM99,538.
“The disposal was carried out after all investigation papers had been completed at the prosecution stage and disposal instructions had been received,” he said at a press conference after the IPD Manjung-level Disposal Ceremony for Bitcoin, Contraband and Gambling Case Items here today.
He said 490 gambling exhibits were destroyed, including mobile phones, portable printers, simulator machines, illegal public lottery betting slips and laptops, with an estimated value of about RM99,538.
For bitcoin-related cases, 1,144 items were disposed of, including bitcoin miners, power supplies, modems and internet routers, computers, air blowers, heat extractor fans, as well as electrical wires and connecting cables, valued at an estimated RM1.275 million.
The cigarette and liquor category involved 33,511 cartons of various cigarette brands, as well as 323 bottles and 48 cans of liquor, with a combined estimated value of RM1.575 million.
Bitcoin mining machines were disposed of through electrical and electronic waste (e-waste) management, while the remaining exhibits were destroyed using an excavator and incineration in accordance with prescribed procedures and standard operating procedures (SOP).
Mohammad Azlin said the action was necessary to prevent a buildup of case items at the IPD Manjung store and to ensure the exhibits were managed systematically, safely and in compliance with the law.
