IPOH July 19, 2026 — Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday officially launched the Bulan Kebangsaan (National Month) and Kibar Jalur Gemilang (Fly the Jalur Gemilang) campaign for 2026 at an event in Ipoh, Perak, marking the start of nationwide preparations for Hari Kebangsaan on August 31 and Hari Malaysia on September 16.
The launch signals growing excitement for this year’s Hari Kebangsaan and Hari Malaysia (HKHM) celebrations, themed “Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati” (Malaysia MADANI: Well-being Enjoyed).
Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil, who attended and shared updates from the event, highlighted the debut performance of the official theme song “Aku Berjanji”, composed and performed by popular Malaysian singer Faizal Tahir.
“For the first time today, the theme song ‘Aku Berjanji’ created and sung by Faizal Tahir was performed. Congratulations Faizal on his work that carries the message of unity, togetherness, and the spirit of loving the country,” Fahmi said in a post on X.
Fahmi urged Malaysians to fly the national flag, Jalur Gemilang, with full pride and glory. He reminded the public to ensure flags are in perfect condition and displayed correctly.
He also issued a note of caution for digital platforms: “The same goes for digital platforms. Be careful if using AI. Don’t let it lack the proper features and affect the dignity of our symbol of pride.”
The event drew enthusiastic crowds, with participants waving Malaysian flags and showing strong patriotic spirit. The launch was broadcast live on RTM, Bernama, and official government channels.
This year’s celebrations will feature various programmes throughout the National Month to promote patriotism, unity, and love for the country, culminating in the main Hari Kebangsaan event in Putrajaya and Hari Malaysia in Sarawak.
The official theme song “Aku Berjanji” is now available for download via the Merdeka 360 portal.
