RIO DEJANEIRO, July 6, 2025 — Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim held a strategic meeting with Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer, led by its President and CEO Francisco Gomes Neto, to explore investment opportunities in Malaysia.

Anwar emphasized the MADANI government’s commitment to strengthening the aviation industry ecosystem through investor-friendly policies, local talent development, and high-impact technological collaborations. These efforts align with Malaysia’s ambition to become a leading aerospace hub in ASEAN, supported by a highly skilled workforce and a robust, competitive industrial ecosystem.
Discussions focused on Embraer’s potential investments in Malaysia, including partnerships with local aviation companies. Malaysia welcomed Embraer’s participation in developing maintenance centers, pilot training facilities, supply chain networks, and low-carbon aircraft innovation, in line with the MADANI Economic Framework and the National Aerospace Industry Blueprint 2030.
The Prime Minister also expressed appreciation for Embraer’s interest in enhancing defense sector cooperation, which could bolster the air mobility capabilities of the Malaysian Armed Forces.
The government is committed to translating these collaborations into high-value job opportunities, technology transfers, and inclusive economic growth for Malaysians, Anwar added.
