KUALA LUMPUR, May 29, 2026 — Malaysia’s Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil attended the National Day reception hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to celebrate the country’s Independence Day.
The event marked the 108th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s Independence Day on May 28, commemorating the founding of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in 1918.
Fahmi, who represented the Malaysian government at the invitation of Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency Irfan Davudov, extended warm congratulations in Azerbaijani, Malay, and English. He expressed hopes for stronger bilateral ties grounded in friendship, mutual respect, and mutually beneficial cooperation.
“Müstəqillik günün mübarək Azərbaycan! Selamat Hari Kemerdekaan, Azerbaijan!” Fahmi posted on X, alongside photos from the event.
