WASHINGTON D.C. May 10, 2026 — President Donald J. Trump sharply criticized Fox News on Sunday, accusing the network of undermining its own programming by platforming Democratic lawmakers and liberal commentators without sufficient challenge or rebuttal.
In a statement shared by the official White House Rapid Response account (@RapidResponse47), Trump singled out Fox News for airing Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.), whom he described as “a wolf in sheep’s clothing” who repeatedly lies “without any pushback, or competent rebuttal from an anchor, in this case, Jacqui Heinrich.”
The president wrote:
“You could listen to FoxNews all day long, absolutely devour it, but then, when you hear SLEAZEBAGS, like Congressman Ro Khanna… LIE, LIE, LIE, AND LIE AGAIN… the entire Common Sense dialogue that has been going on all day at Fox is completely obliterated!”
Trump extended his criticism to other frequent Fox guests, including comedian Bill Maher — whom he called “Low Rated” and said gains “credibility” only through repeated referrals as a “Liberal source of ‘Wisdom'” — and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, labeling him “very Low IQ” and accusing him of viewing the Supreme Court as “illegitimate” and possibly hating the country.
“No matter how ‘Fair and Balanced’ the day’s News at Fox may be, the end result is destroyed by professional Liars, Conmen, and Liberal, Crooked Politicians,” Trump continued. He argued that this approach frustrates MAGA supporters, who he claimed represent “actually close to 100% of the Party,” despite praise for many of the network’s anchors and commentators.
The post concluded: “This is why MAGA Republicans… hate Fox… Hard to win Elections like this!”
The White House Rapid Response account reposted Trump’s full statement as an image on X, where it quickly drew engagement from supporters and critics alike. Some replies echoed Trump’s frustration with Fox’s “both-sides” format, while others suggested viewers seek news from multiple sources or noted the Murdochs’ historically mixed relationship with Trump.
Fox News has not yet issued a public response to the president’s remarks. The network has long positioned itself as a counterweight to what conservatives view as liberal bias in mainstream media, frequently hosting Democratic voices for debate segments.
This latest broadside comes as Trump continues his second term, with his administration emphasizing an “America First” agenda and ongoing tensions with portions of the traditional conservative media landscape.
