PUTRAJAYA, MALAYSIA March 9, 2026 – The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has conducted a major raid on a warehouse suspected of storing and distributing counterfeit health products, resulting in the seizure of goods valued at approximately RM1,333,970.
The operation, carried out by KPDN’s Enforcement Division in Putrajaya in collaboration with the Johor state branch, was executed under the Trade Marks Act 2019 (Act 815). It followed a complaint from the trademark owner regarding the sale of suspected fake health examination products.
Enforcement officers, accompanied by representatives from the trademark holder, inspected the premises identified as a storage and packaging center for various online sales items. A search warrant was used during the raid, which uncovered a large quantity of health devices bearing the registered trademark without authorization.
Among the items discovered were various models of automatic blood pressure monitors, nebulizers, digital thermometers, digital scales, pulse oximeters, and blood glucose meters. Further examination confirmed that these products were suspected counterfeits intended for distribution and sale to consumers.
In response, KPDN seized the entire stock of the suspected counterfeit items. A local woman, who identified herself as the manager of the premises, was detained to assist with investigations. An inspection statement and seizure acknowledgment were issued to her. The case is being investigated under the Trade Marks Act 2019 for unauthorized use of a registered trademark.
Datuk Azman bin Adam, Director-General of Enforcement at KPDN, emphasized the ministry’s firm stance against such activities. “KPDN will not compromise with any parties involved in the sale of counterfeit goods that violate the law, infringe on the rights of registered trademark owners, and jeopardize consumer interests,” he stated in the official release.
