GOMBAK, SELANGOR, MALAYSIA January 29, 2026 – The Selangor Immigration Department (JIM Selangor) has launched its first integrated enforcement operation of the year, targeting the Gombak district as the initial focus area.
The operation, carried out on 29 January 2026, involved raids on two locations in Gombak with the participation of multiple enforcement agencies. A total of 177 officers from the General Operations Force (PGA), Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), National Registration Department (JPN), National Anti-Drug Agency (AADK), and Department of Social Welfare (JKM) took part in this joint operation.
According to the official statement, 147 foreign nationals were detained on suspicion of committing various offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63. The detainees comprised citizens of Indonesia, Myanmar, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Thailand, Nigeria, and China, with ages ranging from 6 to 55 years old.
Leading the operation on the ground were Tuan Khairrul Aminus bin Kamaruddin, Director of Selangor Immigration, accompanied by Tuan Redman bin Safar (Deputy Director of Immigration Selangor – Management) and Tuan Mohmad Khusairi bin Kamarudin (Deputy Director of Immigration Selangor – Enforcement).
The Selangor Immigration Director emphasized that integrated operations of this nature will continue throughout 2026 to ensure stricter immigration control, eradicate illegal immigrants (PATI), and safeguard national security and sovereignty.
All detained individuals have been transported to the Semenyih Immigration Depot for remand and further investigation to determine the exact nature of their offences, which may include document forgery, employment without valid permits, or breaches of entry conditions.
This operation aligns with the ongoing commitment of JIM Selangor to strengthen immigration law enforcement, particularly in areas identified as concentrations of foreign nationals.
